Tip: You do need to be mindful of serving size as spaghetti squash is a little bit higher on the carb veggie ladder, but a very delicious replacement for traditional pasta.

Making it Your Own

The best things about this recipe is that it's highly customizable! You can experiment with different types of ground meat, such as turkey or Italian sausage, to change it up. You can also add in your favorite keto-friendly vegetables, like zucchini, bell peppers, or mushrooms, to boost the nutrient content and add some extra texture. 

Recipe:

Ingredients:

 1 medium spaghetti squash

1 lb ground beef

1 cup marinara sauce (sugar-free)

1 small onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

Olive oil, salt, and pepper

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Cut the spaghetti squash in half and remove the seeds. Drizzle with olive oil, salt, and pepper, and roast for 40 minutes.

In a skillet, sauté onions and garlic until translucent. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Stir in marinara sauce and simmer for another 5 minutes.

Once squash is done, scrape the flesh with a fork to create "noodles." Serve topped with meat sauce.
